Mike Brown the project manager kept me informed throughout the whole project. He took time to explain everything ,regarding the permits that were required   and the inspections. My range started tripping the circuit breaker after installation and when I told them about this, it was dismissed. After months of trouble, I brought a certified electrician and he concluded that nothing is wrong with my range or its connection. And when he turned off the solar power, it wasn’t tripping anymore. So, I called NEDES again and told about it. Their response was “oh that happens sometimes” they came and fixed it but it was after all of my troubles.

How Long Does Solar Panel Installation Take In 2026?

Most NEDES residential systems install in 1-5 days on site. The full process, from consultation to activation, takes 1-3 months, depending on utility interconnection review and local permitting timelines.

Will Solar Panels Still Produce Power On Cloudy Days?

Solar panels continue generating electricity on cloudy days, typically at 10-25% of clear-day output. Panels convert diffused daylight, not direct sunlight alone, into electricity, which is why production drops but doesn’t stop.

How Much Output Do Solar Panels Lose Over 25 Years?

Modern Tier 1 panels degrade at roughly 0.5% per year, per NREL fleet data, retaining about 87-90% of original output at year 25. Panels keep producing well past the 25-year warranty mark; they simply generate a little less each year.

How Much Can I Save With Net Metering In Virginia Or Pennsylvania?

Net metering credits exported solar power at the full retail electricity rate in both Virginia (Dominion Energy, Appalachian Power) and Pennsylvania (PUC-protected, all investor-owned utilities). A correctly sized system can offset most or all of a monthly electric bill, depending on household usage and roof orientation.

Are There Still Solar Incentives In Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware & DC In 2026?

The 30% federal residential tax credit (Section 25D) expired December 31, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, so cash and loan purchases no longer receive it. Virginia and Pennsylvania homeowners can still access full retail net metering, sellable SRECs (currently trading near $25-$45 per credit in Pennsylvania and $27-$33 in Virginia) and Virginia’s local property tax exemption on solar equipment. Commercial and third-party-owned (lease/PPA) systems can still access the 30% federal Section 48E credit through 2027.
